The Van Wert City Recreation and Parks Department consists of five
parks, which contain over 60 acres of land and nearly 120 surface acres of water.

Park (29.4 acres) includes 2 lighted softball fields, 2 lighted baseball fields, 3 tennis courts, 2 full-size basketball courts, 2 soccer fields (Fall), tot playground area, fishing pond, 4 pavilions, concession, restrooms, and parking. An additional 18.5 acres is under development for soccer, flag football and baseball and softball fields. |
Jubilee Park |

Park (8.6 acres) includes 4 lighted tennis courts, 4 shuffleboard courts, 1 partial basketball court, 2 horseshoe courts, 1 volleyball court, youth ball field, tot playground area, 2 pavilions, restrooms, and parking. A full-size basketball court is coming in 2001. |

The park (2.0 acres) is a focal point of the downtown area. The park includes a gazebo, band shell, and fountain plaza. In 1987 Fountain Park won first place in the Ohio Parks & Recreation Association Park Area Development contest, $175,000-$300,000 category. |

Memorial Park (2.1 acres) is graced with monuments for veterans, parking, and the largest assortment of gardens in the park system. The gardens are provided by and tended by the local Men's Garden Club. |

This area has two reservoirs with 3.65 miles of recreational trails, and fitness stations. The west side of the north reservoir has restrooms with a pavilion-picnic
facilities. The southern 100 acre reservoir has a handicap accessible fishing pier and a boat ramp. |
