The creation and administration of the Van Wert City Government Web Site originated in response to a need.   During a meeting the Director of Van Wert County Economic Development expressed the need to make information on Van Wert County more accessible to individuals and to industries.  Participants agreed that the Internet would be the most economical and feasible way to accomplish this goal.  As a result, "Van Wert County Home page" and a number of Web sites, such as the one for the City of Van Wert, were developed.

The City of Van Wert Web site was initiated by one of its police officers who offered to donate his time toward the creation of the site.   His efforts include research, writing much of the text, photography, formulating Web site policies, and layout of the Web site.  Various city officials assisted in their specified areas.

Updates

Routine updates within the City Council portion of the Web site are performed by the clerk of City Council at  <councilupdate@vanwert.org>.

Technical problems, or suggestions relating to graphics may be directed to the author of the web site at <terry@ohiotrail.com>.
